2012 Melges 24 World Championship - Venue Now Confirmed As Torbole, Lake Garda, Italy, From 27 July to 4 August 2012

The Executive Committee of the International Melges 24 Class met on the evening of Tuesday 11 August to review in detail the options proposed to it for the 2012 Melges 24 World Championship. Following full discussion of the needs of the Class and the options available the Executive Committee has unanimously voted to hold the 2012 Melges 24 World Championship at Circolo Vela Torbole on Lake Garda, Italy, from 27 July to 4 August 2012.

An event website with more details and the Notice of Race will be published by Friday 28 October latest. The provisional schedule for the event is:

Friday 27 July – Registration Opens
Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July – Registration & Pre Worlds Racing
Monday 30 July to Saturday 4 August – Championship Racing

The IMCA Executive Committee would like to thank everyone involved for their work in preparing proposals and documentation for their consideration. For those clubs who were not successful on this occasion the Executive Committee would like to thank them for their interest and hope to have an opportunity to work with them on another event in the future.
