Sport means health, well-being, anti-stress and holiday.
But not all the guests in the Torbole Santoni hotel are sports lovers, so here are some tips on how to spend your days while on holiday in Garda Trentino from real anti-sport Freelosophers.
The first tip is to have a hearty and healthy breakfast, as it is the most important meal of the day and should never be overlooked, and we at Santoni are talented in this!
After devouring our "Wonderbreakfast", you can head on foot or by bike towards Riva del Garda. The cycle-lane is very pleasant, going along the beaches of Torbole and Riva del Garda and at times runs alongside the lake with overhanging walkways, reaching the historic centre of Riva del Garda. Head to Piazza 3 Novembre, climb the Apponale tower and admire the town from above! Well worth it!
When you descend you can walk along the narrow, whitewashed streets of the centre, where you'll find many shops where you can buy your souvenirs and postcards of the lake: but if you're not keen on postcards you're sure to find the best locations for selfies! At this point, you'll start to feel peckish and you'll discover that it's time for lunch. We suggest you go to the Spiaggia degli Olivi restaurant, traditional with terraces and on the lake shore, to admire the beautiful view and enjoy a light lunch, alternatively the 900 Lucio restaurant is an excellent alternative to enjoy good wine accompanied by cheeses and much more.
If you do not feel too weighed down (that is, if you didn't get carried away with lunch) you can retrace your route back to Torbole and stop at Mount Brione. The climb is not easy, it takes about twenty minutes, but once you reach the top the breathtaking view of Lake Garda Trentino and the surrounding area will leave you speechless, the perfect spot for super selfies! NB: trainers and camera highly recommended! Descending the same way as you arrived, you'll be back in Torbole in just a few minutes. You can then opt for a stop at the beach, admiring the efforts of the surfers or keep that as an option for the following day, or you could be enticed by the centre's shop windows to go on a spending spree.
A cool shower at Santoni and then off again as by now it is time for the pre-nightly ritual, the Italian aperitif! The Santoni lounge bar staffed by Elena is definitely the place to start, perhaps while waiting for your partner or a friend who is running late. Then choose one of the many bars in the centre of Torbole, which are a short walk from Hotel Santoni, to enjoy a drink with friends. We recommend the Winds Bar, where you'll find Marco and all his friendly staff!
Feeling peckish again? Torbole is full of restaurants, pick one, but should you have any questions or needs, just ask Laura and Natasha (i.e. us) at the reception desk, we know where to steer you! After dinner, return to the hotel where you can relax a little bit longer in our Lounge Bar, sipping a cocktail before going to bed. Recharge your batteries in your Santoni white room as tomorrow is another day and a Freelosopher needs to be able to face it with a free and relaxed mind!
