Hi, I am Camilla, a lover of windsurfing who has discovered the amazing world of climbing!
I fell in love with Garda Trentino many years ago when, as a teenager, I used to come to Torbole with my family. I used to windsurf all day long with my father. During an enjoyable aperitif with other guests of the Hotel, we were joking about trying new sports! At the same time Laura walked by and with a stunning smile, interrupted us saying: “Why don’t you try climbing?”
At first we all started laughing but then.. I couldn’t get her idea out of my head and the day after I asked reception if they knew any mountain guides!
As always, the Hotel Santoni Freelosophy always finds the best solution, which in this case is MMOVE.
MMOVE has many professional mountain guides, who can’t wait to share their passion for mountains with you and thanks to my stay at the Hotel Santoni, I even obtained a discount (ask Laura)!
I was pretty nervous but at the same time really enthusiastic about this adventure and whilst waiting for the guide, I decided to gain as more energy as possible from the hotel’s Wonderbreakfast. Suddenly it was time and I was ready with the equipment, climbing shoes and above my head a massive rock wall, my challenge!
We started off with lessons in theory and not long after, I was ready to start climbing the rock face of Belvedere in Nago, one of the most simple climbs for beginners like me!
I followed the mountain guide's advice and immediately realized how this great sport fully occupies both your body and mind.
Hanging onto a mountain over Lake Garda is an amazing sensation, a mixture of lightness and concentration, the best feeling ever.
At the end of the day I was absolutely worn out , but extremely happy and satisfied with what I had achieved. My advice? Don’t miss out on the chance to climb above Lake Garda, it really is an experience that you will never forget. In the evening, around 6 PM, I went back to the hotel to join my friends and I told them all about my adventure whilst sipping a Big Aperol Spritz (and obviously eating food from the buffet at the bar!)
Moral of the story? The day after 8 of us went climbing together! Once again my holiday at the Hotel Santoni has been a real discovery, pure adrenaline in a paradise made up of water and mountains.
