Ferrata Cima Capi in Riva del Garda, it takes your breath away for its beauty. A panoramic via ferrata on Lake Garda, easy and for everyone!
Everything started from a message I received from Fabio, for those who don’t know him he’s our boss, the owner of Hotel Santoni Freelosophy. “Tomorrow our partner MMove organizes an outdoor to via Ferrata Cima Capi, who wants to go?”
I haven’t finished reading the message that I was already extremely excited. Us Freelosophers need constant emotions and chills to offer you daily smiles (even if covered by masks). I’m ready!
8 A.M – meeting time: Mauro, the MMove guide, drives us to Biacesa (Val di Ledro) with his bus. Once he gave us the ferrata kit, harness and helmet, we are ready to leave for Cima Capi… what an emotion!
We will start with an easy walk in the woods, where Mauro entertains us with some historical information, it’s amazing how many things you can learn about the territory in which we live. By the way, did you know that Cima Capi is one of the few historical via ferratas?
After about an hour walking, finally the moment, I wear my harness, tie the helmet and… ready to start my Ferrata Cima Capi, what an emotion. What should I expect? I follow the instructions given by the guide and, between a carabiner and the other, we rise slowly, at the pace of nature! Along the path we also had the chance to see a chamois… maybe I should learn from it how to climb!
It's fundamental to bring a lot of water, on the rocks the sun hits hard and you will surely be thirsty! I must confess, I’ve dreamt Hotel Santoni’s Wonderbreakfast more than once, next time I must take advantage of the service Wonderbreakfast to go.
We’ve reached a place from which the view is amazing, Garda Trentino never disappoints you! Walter Bonatti was right when he wrote: “Who higher climbs, further sees. Who further sees, longer dreams” … and from here dreaming is really easy!
We take a couple of pictures and then back down from Foletti assisted trail, with a short stop in Bivacco Arcioni and finally a cold beer at “Bar le Grotte” in Biacesa. We really needed it! Are you persuaded? This is one of the easiest via ferratas of Garda Trentino but spectacular.
Just in time for a quick shower and back to work, full of energy, what a great day!
